I Am About To Explode

I'm going to go Rena on some subbers soon. Episode eight of Majisuka Gakuen was the best yet. However, it is being spoiled by the fact that the subtitles for episode seven are still not out yet! I have been checking their page multiple times a day in hopes that I will find it there. They've been pretty good at getting them out there by the day of the new episode. I have no patience and I am getting worse about this by the day. I know I should be thankful that someone is subbing it, but I'm passed that. I've been spoiled by sites like Drama Crazy and Asian Rice dot TV. I don't know what I am going to do. I guess I'll just rant about it here.

AKB48 Members for H!P Fans (part 8)

I am still avoiding my homework, and I have a lot of it because we had a four day weekend. On that note, back to the topic at hand. Well, who are the two idols that I matched this time? Here is a hint. I selected a picture of Miho crying for a reason...

Is Anybody Out There?

I find it really strange to be posting this often when no one really comments. Is that typical for other bloggers? Is anyone actually reading this blog? I have two followers, but one I know personally. I used to get a couple comments here or there when International Wota did a post about me, but not so much since. I sometimes ask for feedback about this blog, but I don't get any. So this plan is not going to work out well. I'll try anyway. What do you guys like? Do you like random image of the day? What kind of posts? Opinion, links, news, bios, pictures, videos? I want to do some polls, but I'm afraid no one will vote. Just saying that you follow or check my blog would be nice. I feel like I'm talking to myself here.

Another Side to Nacchi?

Is Abe Natsumi into SciFi? This may sound really out there. However, in Morning Musume's first appearance on Utaban promoting the single Love Machine, Nacchi said her ring tone was Star Wars. I am grasping for straws here, but it would be nice if she was.

How to Fall for Morning Musume

I think this is key to becoming a fan of Morning Musume. This will likely take you from a general fan that just likes the music, to the passionate relationship between a wota and his/her idols. I liked the group, but I had no idea of the history or epicness of Morning Musume. The first step is to watch Utaban. This is more important than Music Fighter or any of the other programs. I recommend starting with their first episode and working up from there. Once you reach the fourth generation episodes available with subtitles become erratic. Once you get closer to present day Utaban becomes less significant unless it features the OG. I suggest moving to Music Fighter at that point. Music Fighter deals with Morning Musume (since the 8th generation) much better.

If you are wondering why this is so important it is because Utaban and Morning Musume progressed together. I don't know how crucial Utaban was for Morning Musume become a hit. However, you will learn plenty from it. I didn't like Nacchi and hated Kei-chan until I started watching Utaban. I had no interest for the OG, so when they graduated I was actually glad. (I've talked about this before so sorry if this is repetitive for you.) Now when I watch it I start to tear up. Haromoni is also a great source. The earlier episodes are hard to come by, but once Utaban episodes become unstable Haromoni is where you should transfer to. Morning Musume members grow and the line up changes, so following and understanding crucial moments can be difficult for those who are just starting. These events happened years ago. By following their stories through TV you will (likely) fall in love with the famous Morning Musume.

Holy Cow!

Yes, it is a very magical cow. No, but seriously... every so often YouTube goes on a deleting spree and deletes H!P videos. Right now it seems mostly the usual Utaban and other H!P TV appearances. I was going through my subscriptions to see if any have survived to this point, and to see if accounts were deleted. I found some that are alive, and I started to watch the Utaban episode with ZYX! K-Pop v. Idol J-Pop

If you had not noticed these comparison often come up, possibly more so on YouTube. I just have to say, STOP COMPARING THEM! It is like comparing Morning Musume to the Spice Girls. (these are not meant to be distinct points; it is just what pops out of my head.)

Yes, they do have similarities. H!P and AKB48 even share elements with Britney Spears and the Spice Girls, but that does not make it a worth-while topic. Yes, they are in the same genre. However, they are just culturally and stylistically different.

Idols and K-Pop girl groups are not meant to be similar. Idols are suppose to be relatable. They need flaws because that makes them endearing. They don't have to be the best singers or dancers. They don't need to be drop dead gorgeous or smart. Each girl varies in size, skills, interests, looks, and personality. That is why they can release whole solo photobooks and DVDs, and be successful. Girls idolize them because they could be their best friend, or they want to be more like the idol. And it can be realistic! Guys like them because they could be their girlfriend, wife, or it reminds them of when they were in college, high school,and middle school. They can relive their youth, and it wouldn't be too out-there to have an idol in their class. (I am just generalizing. I do know that gay/ lesbians would have a different perspective... lesbians probably have a combination of both girls and guys...getting off topic.)

K-pop is meant to be more professional. They are more like the girl groups in the States than idols. They are just different. Just like how grizzly bears, polar bears, and pandas are. They may look similar but they can't reproduce, and pandas are closer related to raccoons than bears. You don't compare an idol group of middle schoolers to 20-somethings sexpots. You can like one over the other, it is just a matter of your preferences. You might like both!

Which one is better is a matter of opinion. That is all I'm trying to say. I am not saying K-Pop groups are worse than idols. You can compare non-idol J-Pop to K-Pop. Ayumi Hamasaki (although I think Ayu is more of a Madonna comparison), Koda Kumi, or Maki Goto can be compared to Girls Generation, Wonder Girls, or BoA. You also have to keep in mind their styles. Just because Britney and Christina are in the same genre and about the same age, does not mean they are the same.

I just came up with another theory.  What if she is in Australia!  The English clues work.  They have food from everywhere.  She talked about how hot it was, and it is summer for them.  She has already released a PB from Hawaii.  I'm just excited.  I wonder how long till we hear about this photobook.  She didn't say that it is a photobook, but I don't know what else it could be.

While looking at KonKon's third photobook she reminded me of Mii-chan. I think they share a similar esthetic. They both are sweet with a natural sex appeal. Mii-chan and KonKon are both energetic and silly.
