Romantic Comedy J-drama: Homeless Category

They are not actually drams about homelessness, but they are others, and homeless sounds better.  None of these are very popular which is sad because they are all pretty good.  These range from idols, to odd high school teachers, to rich detectives.  This is the last of the series.

Highly Recommended:
Maid in Akihabara:
It is a 6 episode series that was produced in Japan in 2005 and released on February 24, 2006. Each episode ran about 15 minutes, and took place in Akihabara, Tokyo - the cyber city of Japan. The story begins when a woman named Saki, an ex-bar girl, tries to find a job to hide from a group of yakuza. She ends up getting a job at a Maid cafe called Meido no miyage (Maid's gift). She is the third maid to be joining the cafe. She was homeless and starts living in a 24-hour internet cafe.


Haruka 17:
Haruka is a bright and earnest 22- year-old college graduate looking for a job. She soon finds herself in a pinch and ends up taking a job as a manager at a talent agency. The only problem? Instead of working with clients, she ends up becoming one. And if that weren’t enough, she’s asked to pose as a 17-year-old. Although Haruka was puzzled and confused by such unexpected situation, she gradually discovers the hidden talent and attraction in herself and aims seriously to become a genuine idol! A success story about a young lady who realizes the "real" side of herself with the support of the unique people sorrounding her. --TV Asahi


Shiawase ni Naritai:
Hikari (Kyoko Fukada) has to take care of her sick mother and two younger brothers. They are informed that their missing father has died, and later find out he left them a huge 10 million yen debt. They are a very poor family. They have no money or food. To pay off the debt, Hikari lands a cleaning job at the UBS TV company. On the other side, there's Masako Nagai (Matsushita Yuki), a struggling UBS TV drama producer. The men she works with are somewhat sexist. Through an incident within UBS, Masako discovers Hikari's talents as a creative person with a great imagination for drama writing. With no allies within UBS, she decides to hire Hikari, training her to be an assistant producer. Hikari's happiness is keeping her family fed and paying off her father's debt. Masako's happiness is to gain respect within UBS by excelling as a drama producer.

Mendol-Ikemen Idol:
The story revolves around three ordinary girls named Asahi, Nami, and Hinata who are aiming to become idols, but they repeatedly fail in their auditions. One day, they witness a serious crime, and they are forced to flee from the culprits. Fortunately, they are saved by a producer who is willing to let them debut, but they have to hide their true identities and dress up as boys instead. --Tokyograph

Fugoh Keiji:
What do you get when you mix a granddaughter from an extremely rich family with crime, murder, and a passion for law and justice? Kanbe Miwako, a granddaughter of a super rich millionaire becomes a detective and starts working at a male dominant police station. Guren Onna:
The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Joko Nobuyuki. Takabe plays a high school teacher who has no friends due to her gloomy personality. Trying to find a reason for living, she spends her nights dressing up as the "guren-onna," a fictional ghost, and terrifying other people. However, she begins running into actual ghosts. --Tokyograph

Oishii Proposal:
Imagine that you're at the so-called "marrigeable age" of your life as a single woman...what would your ideal conditions for a husband be? Back in the day, people used to say the "3 Hs"--high salary, high educational background, and tall height; nowadays it's more like the "3 Ls"--ladies first modest attitude, low risk, and a low dependency rate. But that's another story. The real problem is that before your very eyes, a young, well-paid "super hot celebrity guy" appears...and proposes to you...what do you do? Hasegawa Kyoko plays Shiraishi Suzuko, a beautiful and strong-minded female chef. Koide Keisuke plays the naive young celebrity businessman, Katsuragi Haruki. These two characters await you in this comic drama full of all sorts of mishaps.
